August is drawing to a close.
The combine harvesters are out, and nature’s fruitful “blackberry and apple” season is upon us.
Our wild creatures are eating and storing what they can to meet winter with their best chances of survival. The geese are taking training flights; swallows and starlings are feeding as much as they can and starting to gather in readiness for their autumn migration.
Hopefully any holidays you managed over the summer gave you a boost, but it’s not unusual – after even the most fabulous holiday- to arrive home exhausted, so addressing your physical and mental needs at this time of year is still vital.
So what do you have in mind for yourself as you shift from summer into autumn?
How do you foresee yourself maximising your strength and energy?
Following nature’s example, now is a good time to start things which you can realistically build into your week over the autumn to sustain you through winter:
- To nurture your physical health
- To boost your emotional wellbeing
- To feed your creative self
For me I am going to:
- Stretch like a cat every morning (even if I don’t do a full yoga flow!)
- Stand in the garden every day, face the sky and notice what I can hear and feel – even if it is just for a few seconds
- Draw something (even if it’s just a doodle in the corner of my diary page) #zendoodle
What will you do?
